The Weiss Group at Vanderbilt University currently engages in research involving photonics, optoelectronics, nanoscience and technology, and optical properties of materials. We are particularly interested in photonic applications of nanomaterials, including the detection of small biomolecules in nanoporous silicon waveguides and the fabrication and characterization of white-light LEDs using cadmium selenide nanocrystals.
